WhiteStone deliver and configure Microsoft’s Cloud Based Application Services
Microsoft Office 365 has been around for a few years and it is likely that you will have heard the name, but what is it exactly? Office 365 is a subscription based cloud service comprising of several Microsoft business products. These can be purchased individually or in bundles depending on your requirements. Here are some of them:-
Access, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Word
Traditionally, Office applications were purchased with a computer; if the computer failed and needed to be replaced, a new copy of Office was required.
With Office Pro Plus via office 365, the license isn’t bound to the computer so when a computer is replaced, the licence is simply transferred; in addition licensing Office applications using Office 365 allows you to install on up to 5 computers, either PC or Mac.
The subscription licensing model also entitles you to the most recent version of the software.
This allows all users to be running the same version, removing the headaches caused by managing and administering multiple versions of the same product, and allowing users to take advantage of new features.
Reliable, powerful, scalable, secure; for many years Microsoft Exchange was, and still is, the preferred Email solution for business and large organisations.
The downside to Exchange is the expensive infrastructure requirements, skilled professionals required to configure and maintain it, as well as static IP addresses, SPF records, rDNS, antispam software, backups and other associated headaches! This often placed it outside the reach of smaller organisations or came with an expensive price tag.
With Exchange Online, Microsoft provides the infrastructure; reducing the requirements for server infrastructure, expertise and associated technologies, as well as placing it firmly in the grasp of small and large organisations alike.
Where there is a requirement to maintain an on-premise Exchange instance, we can hybridise with Exchange Online, allowing you to take advantage of the benefits of Office 365, but maintaining your on premise installation.
The power of SharePoint is often overlooked, even if the name is familiar. As well as Cloud based, browser accessed document storage, SharePoint can do a lot more.
